Microsoft appears to be in plans to tap into the entry level smartphone market segment in India with its aggressively priced offerings. Now, the firm has announced its most affordable Lumia smartphone called Lumia 435 that went official in the last month alongside Lumia 532 in the country for a pricing of Rs 5,999.
Though it is priced in affordable price segment, the Lumia 435 carries impressive specifications and it runs on Windows 8.1 platform with Lumia Denim update. The Lumia 435 boasts of a 4 inch display with a WVGA resolution of 480×800 pixels and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 processor. This chipset is paired with Adreno 302 graphics unit and 1 GB of RAM.
For storage, the Lumia 435 is bundled with 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded externally by another 128 GB. Imaging aspects include a 2 MP main camera at the back and a VGA front facer for video conferencing. Other aspects of the cheapest ever Lumia smartphone include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, dual SIM and a 1,560 mAh battery rated to pump in up to 11.7 hours of talk time.
The Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim update will bring about Live Folders, Cortana and Apps Corner. There is Lumia Camera preinstalled in the device and it brings the Lumia Selfie app to click, edit and share selfies. Other aspects include HERE location services with free international HERE Maps, HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit. The Lumia 435 comes in a slew of color options including bright green, bright orange, white and black.
