ZTE has announced the launch of a new smartphone called ZTE N919D for a pricing of Rs 6,999. It is a dual SIM smartphone with both CDMA and GSM facility. The ZTE offering is exclusively available via online retailer eBay India alongside free unlimited data for three months for the Reliance subscribers.

When it comes to hardware specifications, the ZTE N919D is given a 5 inch display with FWVGA screen resolution boasting 480×854 pixels. Under its hood, there is a 1.2 GHz quad core processor backed by 1 GB of RAM. Storage wise, the ZTE smartphone bundles a paltry 4 GB of native storage space that can be further extended externally by another 64 GB using a micro SD card.

The imaging hardware of the ZTE N919D comprises of an 8 MP main camera with LED flash at its back and a VGA front facing selfie snapper. The connectivity aspects of the ZTE offering include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual SIM functionality. Operating under its hood is a 2,500 mAh battery that should be rendering a decent backup to the smartphone.

The major downside is that this smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system that is pretty dated. Notably, most of the entry level smartphones in the market are fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat platform that is rich in resources.
