Intex Aqua Star L with Android 5.0 Lollipop Announced for 6,990 INR

India based tech manufacturer Intex has announced the launch of a new smartphone called Intex Aqua Star L that is priced at Rs 6,990. The highlight of the smartphone is that it is preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Following this launch, Intex becomes the first native vendor to announce an Android Lollipop based smartphone at a budget price point.

The Intex Aqua Star L is given a 5 inch fully laminated IPS display with a FWVGA screen resolution of 480×854 pixels. Though the resolution remains low, the fully laminated panel is appealing at this pricing as it will eliminate the reflections completely. The device draws power from a 1.3 GHz quad core processor that is paired with 1 GB of RAM for moderate multitasking.

For storage, the Lollipop based Intex Aqua Star L is bundled with 8 GB of local memory capacity that can be expanded further by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. The imaging aspects include an 8 MP main camera with auto focus and LED flash for a better low light performance and a front facing 2 MP selfie snapper. Connectivity aspects onboard the Intex Aqua Star L include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM capability. A 2,000 mAh battery powers the smartphone from within pumping a decent backup to it.

Lately, Intex is launching numerous smartphones in the market at different price points and with varying highlights. The firm has managed to grab the third position in the Indian smartphone market with a sales figure of 1.7 million units in the last quarter of 2014.
