Motorola today released the new Moto E 3G in India, as expected, but the company also stated that the 4G LTE variant will soon follow its way to India in next 2 months.
2 months is a long time, but if you are hesitant in buying 3G variant and don’t want to miss on 64 bit zeitgeist, you could always wait a bit longer. The major difference between the two devices is the chipset. The 4G variant comes with more up to date Snapdragon 410 64 bit SoC while the 3G variant uses 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 quad core with cortex A7 cores.

Apart from the obvious 4G LTE advantage, it’s hard to access how much more beneficial the 4G variant will be in day to day usage. Though Android 5.0.2 Lollipop supports 64 bit computing, reports suggest that Motorola is using a 32 bit software version on both Moto E as most apps in Android ecosystem are still designed for 32 bit architecture.
Other hardware including 4.5 Inch Display, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 5 MP AF rear / VGA Front camera and 2390 mAh battery remains same on both handsets. The price difference is expected to be around 2,000 INR. Which means, Moto E 4G LTE will face stiff competition from phones like Yu Yureka and Lenovo A6000.
