Huawei has today launched Honor 6 Plus in India, as the successor of Honor 6 which will be available for 26,499. we got some time to play with the review unit prior to the launch are here we try to answer some basic preliminary questions for those interested in the device.

Question – Does Huawei Honor 6 Plus have Corning Gorilla Glass Protection?
Answer – Yes, Honor 6 Plus is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 on both sides
Question – How is the Display of Honor 6 Plus?
Answer – Honor 6 Play has a pretty dazzling flagship grade full HD IPS LCD display with very good colors , viewing angles and brightness. The display is sharp and crisp as expected. Side bezels are reasonably thin. You can tweak color temperature from settings, but default setting works well.
Question – How is the Build Quality?
Answer – Honor 6 Plus takes some design cues from Honor 6, but is bigger. While Honor 6 felt very light in hand, Honor 6 plus has a decent heft to it, which makes it feel solid. Huawei is using metal on all sides, except for the rounded bottom edge made of plastic. It’s a slim phone with textured glass back, which feels solid. The glass back attracts lots of smudges, but a case or scratch guard bundled with the box can fix that.
Question – Is there any heating issue in Honor 6 Plus?
Answer – So far, we haven’t experience any inconsistent heating in Honor 6 Plus in day to day usage.
Question – What comes inside the Box?
Answer – 2 Ampere wall charger, Documentation, USB Cable, SIM ejection tool, and 2 scratch guards. we didn’t get any headphones in our review unit.
Question – What size SIM card is supported?
Answer – One Micro SIM and One Nano SIM slot is present. MicroSD card slot is merged with Nano SIM card slot and thus, you can use only one of the two. we had to struggle a bit to insert SIM on our review unit, but it all worked out fine.
Question – Does it have LED notification light?
Answer – Yes, LED notification light is there. You can turn it off from the settings.
Question – How much is Free Storage?
Answer – Out of 32 GB, 25.77 GB is available at use end. You can also use up to 128 GB SD card storage. Apps can be moved to SD card. Within native storage, there is no separate partition for apps.
Question – Does it support USB OTG?
Answer – Yes, USB OTG is supported.
Question – How is the Camera Quality?
Answer – In our initial testing, we like the performance of dual camera on Honor 6 Plus. The two camera’s are used for bokeh effect and allow you to refocus objects post shooting them. Camera app is rich with options and filters and allows you to toggle ISO, WhiteBalance and exposure. By software interpolation you can also output up to 13 MP images. You can set double pressing of volume rocker as a shortcut to fire camera app.

Answer – It scored 43,700 on Antutu and 60.3fps on Nenamarks 2. Performance has been smooth so far.

Answer – GPS locking is good on Honor 6 Plus both indoors and outdoors.
Question – How loud is Loudspeaker on Honor 6 Plus?
Answer – The Huawei Honor Plus 2 loudspeaker is quite loud. watching media content won’t be a problem at all.
Question – How is the Device software?
Answer – Huawei is using Android 4.4.4 KitKat based Emotion UI 3, which is again rich in option and features. Whether you like it or not will be more a matter of personal taste. There is no app drawer by default and animations are slightly slow. Each time the lockscreen greets us with a new wallpaper, which is something we like. Cellular video calling is not supported. You can always use third party launcher according to your taste.

Answer – Yes, the handset can play Full HD 1080p and HD 720p videos of several formats smoothly without any issues.
