Many users have been waiting for the arrival of the new Zenfone 2 in India, and finally there is official word on expected arrival. Zenfone 2 will be available in India in the last week of April, 2015 and as the PR image susggests, Asus is aiming high.

There are 4 Zenfone variants we know of so far, but Asus might also launch other India specific variant too. The top end model, comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 bit Intel Atom Z3580 chip clocked at 2.3 GHz. Going by import data, we can expect Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML to be available first.

All Zenfone 2 models will have a 5.5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720p or 1080p Full HD resolution. All models will also benefit from powerful PowerVR G6430 GPU in 64 bit Quad Core Intel Atom Z3560 or Z3580 SoCs.

Other features include 16 GB internal storage, 2 GB to 4 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera with Dual Tone LED flash and wide angle lens, a 5 MP selfies shooter, 64 GB MicroSD card slot, Dual SIM support and 4G LTE. All models will have a capacious 3000 mAh battery.

Software will be Android 5.0 Lollipop based Zen UI, with several vibrant colors and animations. While the ergonomic design bears semblance with last generation lineup, button placement is entirely different. Zenfone 2 offers an LG inspired rear key below camera sensor on the rear side and the power button has been housed at the top.

We will have to wait till the end of this month to know more. Zenfone 2 will be available on Flipkart, but without flash sales rigmarole.
