Xiaomi Redmi 2A with LeadCore CPU Announced in China

Xiaomi has come a long way since it started 5 years ago. Today, it is celebrating its 5th anniversary with the launch of Xiaomi Redmi 2A, which is the least expensive Xiaomi LTE smartphone. This is the Leadcore variant which has been the subject of Xiaomi rumors circulating the web for the past couple of days.

Everything from in and out remains same, except for the CPU. The 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core in Redmi 2 has been traded with 32 bit Leadcore L1860C quad-core Cortex A7 chip ticking at 1.5 GHz. The new chip will be assisted by same 1 GB RAM and 8 GB expandable storage.

Other features include 4.7 Inch HD display, 8 MP rear/ 1.2 MP front camera, 4G LTE, MIUI 6 and 2200 mAh battery. The handset has been priced at 599 Chinese Yuan which translates to 6000 INR approximately. Only for today it will be selling at 499 Chinese Yuan in China.

Xiaomi Redmi 2A will remain a China exclusive for now. The company might bring it in India too, but next on the cards is limited edition 2GB variant of Redmi 2.
