Lava might not be grabbing all the headlines, but in tier 2 circles, the domestic manufacturer is raking in good numbers thanks to its pocket friendly iris series smartphones for first time android users, looking for basic smartphone functionality.

Specs are fairly standard ones. There is a 4 Inch WVGA (800 x 480) pixel display with 1.2 GHz quad core chipset (MT6589?) with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. You can also plugin 32 GB MicroSD card slot and click images from 5 MP rear shooter or front VGA camera.

Other features include 3G, dual-SIM, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and 1750 mAh battery. Before you netizens reject and label it a blast from 2013, there is more. Lava has guaranteed Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Iris X1 Atom.
