Intex Cloud Power Plus Quick Review, Price and Comparison

Big battery phones are working well for domestic manufacture Intex and understandably so. Most of the last generation budget Android phones had dismal battery performance, even more so as the target audience was first time users switching from battery efficient feature phones.

Certainly big battery phones are appealing and a necessity for many. The latest to join the club is Intex Cloud Power+, which is very similar to Intex Aqua Power HD, launched couple of months back. Let’s take a closer look at the hardware specifications.

Camera and Internal Storage

Intex Cloud Power+ includes the most sought after camera combination, the 13 MP rear – 5 MP front shooter for selfies. The generally accepted hypothesis “High Megapixel count = Better quality” is highly misleading, but specs do matter to those passionate about their gadgets. We will have to practically test the camera to know how it works.

Internal storage is 16 GB which is again a decent proposition. You can also pop in up to 32 GB of MicroSD storage for media consumption.

Processor and Battery

The processor used is 1.3 GHz Quad Core MT6582M which isn’t as trendy as 64 bit chips, but would suffice for basic and moderate users. The chipset was ubiquitous last year and was the one Google chose for its Android One smartphones. There is Ample 2 GB RAM to ensure stable performance in the long run.

Battery backup is the main highlight here. The capacious 4000 mAh battery inside can stretch over 17 hours of talk time and up to 1176 hours of standby time. Of course, These are maximum figures, but considering the chipset and display, you can easily expect to last more than one day or perhaps 2 with moderate usage.

Display and Other Features

The display is 5 Inches in size with 720p HD resolution. This is quite sharp and all your texts will be crisp, without unduly taxing your smartphone battery. Intex hasn’t mentioned any Gorilla Glass layer on top, but there is a free flipcover worth 599 INR bundled in the box.

Software is Android 5.0 Lollipop, though it would have been better if Intex had provided V5.0.2 or 5.1. Other features include GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth connectivity options.
