Samsung has launched two new t ablets in India, the Galaxy TabA and E, priced at 20,500 INR and 16,900 INR respectively. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A has a large 8 Inch display lined with narrow side bezels and supports 4G LTE, while the Galaxy Tab E is a 3G only tablet with large 9.7 Inch 16:9 aspect ratio display.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A
The 4G LTE enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab A has an 8 Inch TFT LCD display, which isn’t winning any prizes for high ppi count. This tablet is powered by 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.
The tablet is running Android 5.0 Lollipop based TouchWiz out of the box and also includes a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front snapper, should you wish to take images from this tab instead of your smartphone camera.
The display is very bright and the tablet is very slim at 7.5mm. There is a 4200 mAh battery inside, which pushes the weight to reasonable 320 grams.
Samsung Galaxy Tab E
Galaxy Tab E is cheaper of the two, though still pricey at 16,900 INR. However, with Samsung Branding, large 16:9 Aspect ratio display and voice calling, we are sure it will find several takers.
Galaxy Tab E is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core chip (MT6582?) with 1.5 GB RAM and 8 GB storage. Worry not, as up to 128 GB MicroSD card is supported and media consumption won’t be a problem.

It is a whole 1 mm thicker at 8.5 mm, but still pretty slim and sleek for a 9.7 Inch tablet. Galax Tab E weighs 420 grams and houses a 5000 mAh power unit. Imaging hardware (5 MP/ 2 MP) remains same, but software has been downgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat, which is hidden beneath TouchWiz layer. You will need a hands free to make voice calls.

Samsung will offer a ton of goodies with each of these devices, include 2 GB Airtel data for 2 months. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (8.0″) comes in Smokey Titanium and White colors and is priced at Rs. 20,500 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab E (9.6″) comes in Metallic Black and Perl White colors at Rs. 16,900.
