Google and Lava Will Launch Second Generation Android One Phones on July 14

We already got the whiff of Android One project being alive and kicking, and now ET reports that Google will soon launch the next Android One smartphone in partnership with desi manufacturer Lava Mobiles for 12,000 INR on July 14.

The new phone will cater to second time Android users and will be designed in a way that it remains meaningful over an extended period of time. The core mantra of speedy Android updates – that actually enhance your experience, rather than muddling things up- will remain same.

The first generation of Android One devices weren’t a runaway hit as expected, but we have always had a soft corner for the project. If the report is true and if Lava is the first partner to launch Android One 2.0, this could give the domestic manufacturer much needed boost. Google will also spend 10 to 15 million dollars on marketing and promotion in second phase of Android One development.

Specs include 2 GB RAM, MediaTek chipset and a large 5 Inch display. We are sure Google will handle software optimizations rather well and are excited to check what the new Android One smartphones would feel like.
