Camera

There are high speced alternatives with more RAM at this price range, but among all, Xiaomi Redmi 2 camera performance is best if you compare it with other smartphones under 6000 INR. The camera is snappy and can click good quality images, especially outdoors in natural lighting. Since this is a feature which budget smartphone buyers value the most, it gives Redmi 2 a huge edge over the competition.

Display

The 4.7 Inch HD display is again the best that we have seen in any phone even considerthing those which cost two to three thousand extra. It is sharp and crisp and reproduces gorgeous colors. Yu Yuphoria, the arch rival of Redmi 2, has its own strengths, but the display is where it falters. The vibrant display on Redmi 2 is further complimented by MIUI 6.

Readily Available

With Xiaomi Redmi 2, you get the option to buy from any online portal of your choice any day, as it doesn’t require you to hold your place in the queue in the flash sale model. For those who find flash sales annoying and for those who don’t like to or can’t buy from a particular portal, this is an advantage.

Software updates

MIUI 6 is one of the few Android skins that we like. It is rich in customization options,, has vast community support and is regularly updated. It might or might not get later android version updates, but you can expect required features and improvements to trickle down in future.

Design

The new Redmi 2 improves upon the Redmi 1S. Xiaomi has shaved off extra bezels which makes it look premium. Besides, the back cover and battery are removable, which ensures you won’t have to spend way too much when you get the battery replaced. The dual 4G LTE SIM slots and MicroSD card slot are also housed underneath the soft touch plastic back. More over, it is available in 2 colors, Grey and White, unlike some other flash sales alternatives.
