Tomorrow, at MWC Shanghai, China, Intex will launch its first smartwatch called iRist, which looks a lot like pebble, and probably isn’t running Android wear. At the Intex booth, we got a glimpse of what this new smartwatch will look like.
Wearable tech is yet to gain solid momentum, but yes, the market is expanding. Time is ripe for Intex to step up its game. Since people expect an affordable price tag on these things, iRist is something we are excited to experience and judge. Will it deliver the right mix of features and long enough battery backup at right price? that remains to be seen.
Intex will also introduce a new Android skin, named iDMOS which is also displayed on banners on Intex booth.Looks like it will include Fingerprint scanner support, new launcher with quick access side bar and quick settings toggles near the bottom of the screen, again for quick access. This should be a refreshing change.
Intex will also showcase its Intex Aqua 4G+ in Shanghai tomorrow, which is the first 4G LTE enabled smartphone from Intex and is selling in India for approx 9,500 INR. The handset is running the Android 5.0 Lollipop flavour and supports 21 Indian regional languages.
There is a 5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720P HD resolution, handled by 1.3 GHz quad core MT6735 processor, paired with 2 GB RAM and 16GB expandable internal storage. Other features include 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera and 2300 mAh battery.
We will be present on the ground tomorrow when Intex makes the big announcement. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
