On Monday, Amazon India listed the well-liked handset at a discounted price of INR 6,499, which makes it cheaper than the previous cost by INR 500. Other than the discount, the more interesting news that followed was that Yuphoria now runs on stock Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box and is upgradable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

Before this, the YU smartphones ran the well known Cyanogen OS. But the company tried to experiment with its trending Yu phone. The company listed its affordable Yureka smartphone with stock Android on Amazon. It seems like the company is slowly cutting away from Cyanogen to stock Android.

There is no change in the new Android model of the dual SIM Yureka Plus. It still comes with a 5.5-inch IPS panel with 1080p full HD resolution. It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset, coupled with a 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU.

This new Yu handset features a 13MP rear camera coupled with a 5MP front shooter. The in-built memory storage is 16GB, which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.
