Intex showcased their latest phone in the Aqua series earlier this evening in Delhi, the 4G-ready Aqua Ace which will come with a 5.5 inch display, 2 GB of RAM and a 13 Megapixel camera. No details were provided around the launch date or it’s official pricing although we have good reason to believe that it would be priced for under INR 15,000.
Intex launched a similar device, the Aqua Xtreme last year with more or less the same hardware albeit older software and a slightly dated chipset. With the Aqua GenX, Intex have introduced a 1.3 GHz Octa-Core processor which is most likely on a Mediatek chipset and it comes with 2 GB of RAM that should suffice for Android Lollipop 5.1 that’s running on it. The phone comes with 16 GB of storage and lets you expand that upto 128 GB via microSD (which can replace the second SIM slot).
The 5.5 inch display comes with a FHD IPS screen (that’s a 1920 by 1080 screen resolution) and comes with Dragontail glass protection, which is the equivalent of Corning Gorilla Glass. You’ll definitely love the clarity of the colors on this display. There are no physical buttons on the screen which rules out any accidental key-presses.
The cameras on the Aqua GenX are the same as on the Aqua Ace, a 13 Megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and a 5 Megapixel camera on the front and should take reasonably decent pictures as proved in its predecessors.
The GenX comes with a 2850 mAh battery and features OTG support too. Additional features include a G-sensor, Proximity sensor, Hall sensor, Light sensor, an e-Compass, Auto-call recording and Dual-microphone noise reduction.
