Camera Hardware

The rear camera on the P1m is an 8MP one with 3264 x 2448 pixels. It supports autofocus and has an LED Flash that should help you in low light photography. 8 mega-pixels should do just fine and is ample for sharing pictures online and even allows a little zooming or cropping.

The front camera is a 5MP unit that should be sufficient for all selfie situations. However, it did fall short in our low-light test with a tiny bit of noise settling in the shot.M<ust

Camera UI

The camera UI on this phone seemed good to use. Camera options were easily accessible and so were all the modes the phone’s camera had to offer. The shutter speed was fast so action shots shouldn’t be a problem. Focus speed was snappy as well with no lagginess so to speak. Overall we were satisfied with the UI of the camera app on the Lenovo P1m.

Camera Performance

The camera produced decent results. The camera’s lack of OIS implies that you would require to hold the phone relatively steady but the fast shutter speed helps with this problem in some regard, in that pictures shouldn’t appear blurry. Plenty of detail was present in the camera’s shots and colour reproduction was decent for a camera in this range.

The front camera was great too with adequate amount of detail in artificial and natural light. Low light shots, however saw a bit of noise creeping into the shot. Overall, we think the front camera on this phone is sure not to disappoint.

Conclusion

We think the Lenovo P1m comes equipped with a decent shooter that is sufficient for any user buying a phone in this price range. Needless to say, if cameras matter a lot to you in your smartphone,  this phone will not let you down.
