The device is called the Lenovo Vibe P1M; this is a budget phone that offers all the features of a smartphone with a battery dedicated concept. We received a review unit of this latest device and here is the unboxing and initial overview of the Vibe P1M.

Display Quality
It comes with a 5 inch IPS display which delivers 720p resolution at a pixel density of 293 pixels per inch. The display panel is relatively good in terms of brightness, colour and crispness. The viewing angles are decent and the outdoor visibility is also impressive. It has an ambient light sensor which allows it to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen according to the lighting conditions. We can call it a good display if we look at all the aspects, and watching videos, pictures or playing games will be satisfying.
Camera Quality
It has an 8 MP primary camera and 5 MP front camera, both the camera produce decent results. The main camera does not have OIS which means you need to hold the phone still to capture decent pictures. The details and colour output was average, convincing for a camera of this range.
The front camera is good, we tried clicking a few selfies in different light conditions, it produced clear photos with good amount of details in natural light, whereas the results in low light had a little bit of noise. Gaming Experience
This device comes with an 1 GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6735P processor and 2 GB of RAM, this configuration is not a treat for gamers and aggressive users. As the low frequency chipset does not satisfy the games with high end graphics and details.
We ran Asphalt 8 on this device and it launched the game without a glitch, the game menu and animations were smooth and it didn’t hint us about the less powerful machinery inside. But as soon as we started the race, we immidiately noticed some hiccups and frames hanging. We reduced the graphic details to medium and their was a slight change in performance and this time the game was running smooth and better than before, but as soon as we played the game for over 15 minutes, it started showing lags again when there was too much action in the screen. In the end we can say that the performance is not the best in its class but it still has enough power to run light apps and games with an ease.
Build Quality & Design
The Lenovo Vibe P1M comes packed in a solid plastic made body with a cool matte finish at the back and chrome finished volume rocker, power/lock button, power saving switch and the band on the edges also looks like metal but is made of good quality plastic. The shape and size of this device is great for one hand usage and due to the hefty battery packed inside it, the phone feels pretty solid in hand due to the extra bulk. Overall, the design has not something extra ordinary in it, but it still has a good build quality and subtle finish for the price.

Sound Quality (Speakers/Headphones/Call Quality)
The Lenovo Vibe P1M has a single speaker at the bottom, though it has 2 speaker meshes at the bottom but only one plays sound. The output from the speaker was pretty loud and clear in indoor conditions.
The headphone present in the box was very basic, it has a call receive and hang up button but the output was not up to the mark. Frankly speaking the make is cheap and doesn’t have something to amaze the music lovers, it is OK for callingthough.
Call quality was good, we did few test calls from this device and we were able to hear the voices very crisp and clear and our speech was also properly audible at the other end.
Conclusion
If we look at the device from top to bottom, it has a lot of things to love at the price of INR 7,900. If not the best, it is a great deal for those who travel a lot, or have to do a lot of calling in their day to day routine or someone who does not want to keep an extra battery bank in their pockets or bags for situations where they run out of juice after every while. The only issue with this phone is the less powerful chipset which eats minimal amount of battery but does not perform up to the mark. Overall, this phone gets a thumbs up from our side, if performance is not the only thing you are looking for.
