The InFocus M680 is the latest addition to InFocus low cost smartphones range. Announced at INR 10,999, it will be competing under the over-crowded budget segment. InFocus M680 has a metallic unibody structure with a thin 7.25 mm body and 5.5 inch FHD display. This is not all, it comes with 13 MP rear and 13 MP front cameras. We were lucky to get our hands on this device, and here is what we found about the cameras.

InFocus M680 Camera Software

InFocus features its InLife camera UI to its M680 that resembles many different Android camera UI combined in one. The Cam shutter button and video mode icon along with mode and gallery icons on top and bottom are on the right side. To the opposite side are four icons for settings, HDR, flash and toggling between front and rear cameras. The shooting modes include a lot of modes including slow motion and live photo.

There are few filters to put pre effects on your photos. Our experience with the UI was fair and we found it functionally sound, but some modes felt unfinished in many cases.

InFocus M680 Camera Performance

The cameras on the M680 are good performers for the price. Colour accuracy was great, and the details looked just fine. Focus speed was good and it was accurate in 80% cases, which is also not bad. The one area where the rear camera suffers is the in low-light; the shutter speed and refresh rate drops down, pictures look grainy and unclear but, it’s the common problem with most of the phones. The front-facing camera is a one of the best of its range, it captured good details and good dim light images. Still, we cannot call it the best 13 MP front cameras we have seen so far.

At this price, we are satisfied with the camera performance. It definitely challenges many of its competitors and it is another good option for camera lovers who are planning to buy a smartphone of this range.

Conclusion

The InFocus M680 features great cameras for both front and rear side, absolutely worth the price. The FHD display beautifully enhances the photo viewing experience on this device. Day light images looked great in terms of colour and balance, details were captured nicely, and the camera is fast as well. Two things that fall behind is the unfurnished interface and the low light performance from rear camera. From our side, it gets a thumbs up in the camera department, it is among the few phones of this range with better cameras.
