Points in Favor of Honor 7

  • Higher Resolution Camera
  • More Expandable Storage Support
  • Powerful Processor

Display and Design

Both Honor 7i and its predecessor Honor 7 are fully clad in metal and both look absolutely stunning. What sets Honor 7i apart from Honor 7 is the rotating camera module on Honor 7i that acts both as primary and secondary camera. Both smartphones features the same 5.2 inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) displays. There is not much of a difference between the display and design of these smartphones.

Processor and RAM

Honor 7 is powered by a Huawei made HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core processor clocking 2.2 GHz whereas the newer Honor 7i packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor clocking 1.2 GHz.

Honor 7 comes equipped with 3 GB of RAM whereas Honor 7i is available in 2 GB and 3 GB RAM variants.

Internal Storage and Camera

Honor 7 and Honor 7i, both these smartphones have the same internal storage capacity of 16 GB.

Camera is the only major difference that exists between the two smartphones. Newly launched Honor 7i features a unique flipping 13 MP Auto Focus camera which acts as rear as well as front facing camera. Honor has challenged the concept of dual cameras that exist today.

Where as Honor 7 features 20 MP Auto Focus rear camera along with an 8 MP front facing camera.

Battery and Other Features

Both Honor 7 and Honor 7i are backed by 3100 mAh non-removable Li-Ion batteries. So we can expect almost the same battery life on both these smartphones.

Honor 7i is based on newer version of Android i.e. 5.1 Lollipop whereas Honor 7 is based on A bit older  Android 5.0 Lollipop. Both these smartphones runs on custom skin EMUI 3.1 on top. So we can easily say that Honor 7i must provide a much smoother and flawless performance than its predecessor.

Conclusion

Without the shadow of a doubt Honor 7 gets an upperhand over Honor 7i in terms of RAM, expandable storage support, better resolution camera and slightly powerful processor. But this doesn’t mean that Honor 7i is a weak performer. Honor 7i is just another smartphone from Honor with its fair share of pros and cons. The things that set it apart from the current crop of smartphones is the unique rotating or flipping camera module that it comes with.
