The California based popular on demand video streaming service, Netflix is finally coming to India and we can expect an official announcement at the upcoming Consumer Electronic Show 2016 in Las Vegas in the upcoming days. Reports have emerged that Netflix will be partnering with a local telecom company to use their 4G network. The monthly subscription charges for this extremely popular streaming service can be expected somewhere between INR 500 to INR 700.

Netflix has been eyeing India for quite some time but was reluctant to launch its services in India owing to extremely slow internet speeds and piracy issues. Now, Netflix has partnered with a 4G firm, which essentially means that it has entered into a partnership with Bharti Airtel which has wide 4G coverage in some parts of the country. With Reliance announcing its 4G service i.e. Reliance Jio recently which is momentarily available to its employees only is still awaiting public roll out. So this leaves Bharti Airtel as the only key player.

We can expect an official announcement from Netflix regarding the launch of its services in India in the upcoming Consumer Electronic Show 2016 which is going to be held in Las Vegas. It will be interesting to note how much Netflix charges for the monthly subscriptions in India, keeping in mind that Netflix subscribers need to pay only $8.99 on a monthly basis, which roughly translates to INR 600.
