Huawei Honor 5X Official Launch In India Scheduled On January 28

Huawei has shined plenty this year at CES and now some time for real time action. Huawei’s under its co-brand Honor will be launching its much anticipated smartphone that goes by the name of Honor 5X in India on January 28. It simply means that you can purchase this smartphone right away at the end of this month.

Honor 5X has launched in China back in October last year in two RAM variants2 GB RAM and 3 GB RAM priced at CNY 999 (INR 10,200) and CNY 1399 (INR 14,300) respectively. Though the price of this smartphone for India launch has not been revealed but we can expect it to be somewhere between 10k and 15k for both the variants.

Huawei has gone all-metal for this mid-range smartphone as Honor 5X sports a slim trim metallic design. Honor 5X flaunts a 5.5 inches Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display. The smartphone is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1 on top. Under the hood you will get a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa core processor clocking 1.2 GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU.

The marquee feature of Honor 5X is the fingerprint sensor on the back which is equipped with Huawei’s FingerTech 2.0 which claims to unlock the smartphone under 0.5 seconds.


Honor 5X comes equipped with 2 GB \ 3 GB RAM along with 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via micro SD card. Moving on to the camera department, Honor 5X features the usual 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, 5P lens, Blue Glass Filter and aperture f/2.0. On the front there is 5 MP camera with 4P lens, Blue Glass filter and wide viewing angles of 88 degrees.

Honor 5X is fueled by a 3000 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 which charges the smartphone up to 50% in just 30 minutes. Honor 5X is a dual sim smartphones and supports 4G LTE connectivity on both the sims. Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB 2.0.

This smartphone will be available in Gold and Silver color options leaving out the traditional black and white colors. Honor 5X will be officially announced on January 28. Stay tuned for latest updates.
