QiKU Q Terra  is the latest device launched by QiKU Technologies, which is a joint venture of Coolpad and the software giant Qihoo 360 from China. The device was launched in the month of November and will run on 360 OS based on Android 5.1. The device software is designed by the folks at Qihoo 360 and hardware is designed by Coolpad, known as the world’s largest smartphone maker. We have been using this device since the very next day of the release and here are the answers to the most common queries related to QiKU Q Terra.

Question- How is Design and Build Quality?

Answer- One of the most highlighting feature of this device is the design. We were impressed with the metal clad design, ultra thin bezels and solid build quality at the first look. The phone looks premium from all the angles and the build quality is also really solid. One handed usage is not so great but it sits perfectly in the palms inspite of the phablet size.

Answer- Yes, it has dual SIM slots with dual standby. The first SIM slot is micro SIM and the second SIM slot is hybrid, it can be used as a microSD card slot or a SIM slot.

Answer- Yes, the QiKU Q Terra uses 2nd SIM slot as a microSD slot, it can support up to 128 GB microSD.

Answer- The QiKU Q Terra has Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection.

Question- How is the Display of the QiKU Q Terra?

Answer- It features a 6 inch IPS LCD panel with FHD (1080×1920 p) resolution and pixel density of 386 ppi. The display looks bright and vivid in both indoors and outdoors. The viewing angles and colour production is also impressive, and the crispness is also up to the mark. Overall, a good display for the price but we did expected a QHD panel on a 6 inch phone.

Answer- It comes with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with QiKU’s own 360 OS on top.

Answer- Yes, it has fingerprint sensor and it works perfectly.

Answer- Out of 16 GB of internal storage, around 10.66 GB is available at user end.

Question- How Loud is The Loudspeaker?

Answer- It has a decent quality speaker present at the bottom of the phone, the sound quality was not very loud but it was good for a small room.

Answer- The call quality is perfect, we did not face any issues during calls.

Question- How good is The Camera Quality of the QiKU Q Terra?

Answer- The rear has dual cameras of 13 MP resolutions each with the dual tone LED flash. One lens is known for its RGBW colours and mono sensors. The front camera is 8 MP for high quality videos and selfies. The camera on this phone uses the Sony IMX278 sensor with F/1.8 aperture. It is a good camera module overall, day light pictures are very natural and capture great colours and details. Low light images are also decent enough.

Answer- Yes, it is capable of playing Full HD videos.

Answer- No, it cannot record slow motion videos.

Question- How is Battery Backup on QiKU Q Terra?

Answer- It comes with a 3,700 mAh battery, which is good enough to power up the 6 inch display and powerful chipset. We were really impressed with the battery performance and charging speed during the usage, it can easily run through a long busy day with a little battery left.

Answer– There will is a base model powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage and a high-end variant using an octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.

Question- Does QiKU Q Terra Have Heating Issues?

Answer- We did not notice any heating issues while gaming, browsing or testing benchmark scores. The device was getting warm in few cases but the temperature never went over 43 degrees.

Question- Can QiKU Q Terra be connected to a Bluetooth Headset?

Answer- Yes, it can be connected to a Bluetooth headset.

Question- How is the Gaming Performance?

Answer- We played three popular games which included Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5, and Overkill 3. All of these games are known to put good amount of stress on the GPU and the CPU as well and can easily clear any performance related flaws. Answer- Yes, you can create and share internet from this device.

Conclusion

QiKU Q Terra is considered to be the most promising debutant in its category. The specifications on paper look really powerful and one can really feel it while using this device on daily basis. Camera and display are also good, we really liked the dual camera concept QiKU has implemented on this one. Looks good and feels premium, has all the features we look forward in the flagships. The only concern is the 6 inch display which makes it tough to use with single hand and phablet sized body is not very easy to carry. Overall a great offering for INR 19,999, and we expect more stunning phones from QiKU in coming time.
