LG Stylus 2 launched with 5.7 inch display, 4G LTE

LG Stylus 2 was today launched with a big 5.7 inch display and 4G LTE support. The successor of the original G4 Stylus will be shown off at the Mobile World Congress later this week. The Stylus 2 comes with a brand new nano-coated tip on the stylus. According to LG, this helps to improve the accuracy of the stylus compared to the regular rubber-coated tip.

The LG Stylus 2 comes before the MWC event kicks off later this week. Only yesterday, LG announced the X Cam and X Screen, with “exceptional features in a affordable smartphone”. LG is also preparing to launch the G5 at the Mobile World Congress this week, so things are a little busy at the Korean company’s offices.

LG Stylus 2 Specifications and Availability

The Stylus 2 comes with a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display, with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Taking over from the G4 Stylus launched last year, the Stylus 2 also sports a range of features that make use of the new stylus. Features like Pen Pop, Pen Keeper, Pop Scanner and Pop Memo are available to enhance user experience. And talking about software, the Stylus 2 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with LG’s custom skin on top.

The LG Stylus 2 runs on a 1.5 GHz quad core processor and comes with 1.5 GB RAM to help with multitasking. The internal storage is fixed at 16 GB, which can be expanded by another 128 GB using a microSD card. On the back, you will find a 13 MP camera with an LED flash and support for 1080p recording, and the front houses an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calling. In terms of connectivity, you get 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ support in addition to Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.1. The phone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.


LG is initially launching the Stylus 2 in its home market, South Korea. Further availability in other markets like Asia, Europe and the US will be known closer to the launch in those markets. There is no word on the pricing yet.
