Asus ROG Unveils ROG Avalon, Rampage V Edition 10 And More At The Computex 2016

Asus Republic of Gamers today marked its first decade of gaming innovation at the Join the Republic press event at Computex 2016. Asus unveiled multiple gaming devices at the event. It unveiled the ROG Avalon, Rampage V Edition 10, Swift PG248Q, Centurion and  the Strix GeForce GTX 1080.

Commenting at the event, ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih, said: “I’m incredibly proud of ROG’s achievements over its first 10 years, and today’s announcement demonstrates that our commitment to extreme performance and gaming superiority is undiminished. I guarantee that ROG’s second decade will be every bit as exhilarating. Today is a celebration of our success — and proof that ROG’s epic innovation and dominance continues at full strength.

ROG Avalon

Avalon is a hybrid motherboard-chassis combo. It is aimed at changing how you assemble your DIY PC. This is just a prototype right now. As motherboard and chassis are designed as a single unit, you don’t have to buy them separately.

You don’t need to trouble yourself with messy cabling as the Avalon features SSD, PSU and graphics-adapter boards and you can just plug them. They are located on the forefront for easy access. On the rear you will find the modular input / output unit for your connectivty options.

ROG Rampage V Edition 10

The ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 motherboard is targeted at Broadwell-E processors that are set to be announced this week at Computex. The ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 will be available at a retail price of $599 US.

The ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 features a 8 Phase Digi+ III VRM powered by a 8+4 Pin power connector. It comes with five independently-controlled on board LED areas plus one 4-pin 5050 RGB header and this can be synchronized by the Aura software.

ROG has teamed up with CableMod, IN WIN, Deepcool, BitFenix, and Phanteks to simplify RGB lighting compatibility and control.

The motherboard has eight DDR4 DIMM slots which can run memory with speeds of up to 3333 MHz. Expansion slots include four PCI-e 3.0 x16 (x16/x8/x16/x8 electrical), a single PCI-e x4 and a single PCI-e x1 slot. The PCI-e expansion slots comes with LEDs that can be configured using RGB effects. Storage options ont board are SATA III and a single U.2 port.

The I/O options on the ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10 are 10Gbps USB 3.1 ports, Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi with a 3×3 antenna and built-in Bluetooth, CMOS / BIOS set buttons, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 port and a 7.1 channel audio jack.

ROG Swift PG248Q

The ROG Swift PG248Q is a 24-inch 16:9 LED-backlit display with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution. The is aimed at gamers who want a smaller display so that they can find a specific target without having to move their head. The entire monitor will be in their field of view.

The display is ready with NVIDIA G-Sync and is capable of hitting up to 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms grey-to- grey response time and offers tear-free, smooth gaming with GeForce graphics cards.

The ROG Swift PG248Q comes with ASUS-exclusive GamePlus including crosshair, timer, FPS counter, Display Alignment and GameVisual technologies for six preset display modes.

ROG Centurion

The ROG Centurion gaming headset that delivers 7.1-channel surround-sound directly to the gamer’s ears, through 10 individual neodymium-magnet drivers. To help gamers communicate clearly, it comes with a noise-canceling digital microphone and a Hi-Fi- grade ESS headphone amplifier.

User can control the audio through ASUS Sonic Studio. The headset comes with two sets of interchangeable ear cups for customization. The headset comes with USB audio station for fingertip control.

ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080

ROG Strix GTX 1080The ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 is based on Nvidia’s Pascal architecture. The card has two operational modes – Gaming Mode and OC Mode. The first mode features a 1759MHz base clock (1898MHz Boost), while the second features a 1784MHz base clock (1936MHz Boost).

It comes with customizable lighting that includes color-shifting and patterns. You can also make the lights pulse to your music. It comes with integrated Aura RGB LED lighting to display millions of colors and six different effects.

The triple-wing-blade fan design promises a card that’s 30 percent cooler and three times quieter than NVIDIA’s Geforce GTX 1080.
