Xiaomi Mi Max Vs Lenovo Phab Plus, Quick Comparison Review

Xiaomi announced its Gigantic Mi Max on 11th May this year in China, the phone reached India on 30th June. While Lenovo Phab Plus was first unveiled in China in August last year, the phone, however, made its way to Indian markets in October. Both the phones feature an Extra Large Display, Mi Max has a big 6.44 inch Screen, while, Lenovo Phab Plus has a bigger 6.8 inch Display. Let us take a look at the complete comparison between Xiaomi Mi Max (32 GB) and Lenovo Phab Plus.

Design & Build

Xiaomi Mi Max features a large 6.44 inch Display with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 74.8% screen-to-body ratio. Mi Max has a Metallic Body with overall dimensions of 173.1 x 88.3 x 7.5 mm. Even with a 6.44 inch Display and 4850 mAh Battery, Mi Max, weighs just 203 grams, moreover, it is just 7.5 mm thick.

On the other hand, Lenovo Phab Plus comes with a 6.8 inches Display with 70.7% screen-to-body ratio. It also has a full Metal Body with nicely trimmed bezels and aluminum back cover. Its dimensions are 186.6 x 96.6 x 7.6 mm and weighs 229 g.


Both the phones have a Premium looking Metallic Unibody Design, but Mi Max has a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection that is missing in Phab Plus. Mi Max is easy to handle because of its lesser height and width, but Phab Plus has a bigger Display to counter that. Both the phones are almost equally slim but Mi Max weighs 26 grams lesser than Phab Plus.

Display

Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a 6.44 inches IPS LCD Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and pixel density of 342 ppi. On the other hand, Lenovo Phab Plus features a 6.8 inch IPS Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and pixel density of 324 ppi.

3Mi Max has a smaller display as compared to Phab Plus, but in terms of overall quality, the display on Mi Max is slightly better than Phab Plus.

Camera

Xiaomi Mi Max is equipped with a 16 MP Primary camera with dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. It supports 4K UHD video recording @30fps, FHD @30fps and HD @120fps. While, on the Front it has a decent 5 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the other hand, Phab Plus has a 13 MP Primary camera with dual-LED flash, autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. It supports FHD video recording @30fps. It also has a 5 MP camera on the front.

4Xiaomi Mi Max produce slightly better picture quality as compared to Phab Plus on the rear. Whereas, the front camera quality is almost same on both the phones.

Hardware, Storage and OS

Xiaomi Mi Max is powered by a Hexa core processor with Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset. It comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB Internal Storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card through the second SIM slot. On the other hand, Phab Plus is powered by an Octa Core Processor with Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset. It has 2 GB RAM and 32 GB Internal Storage which is expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card through the second SIM slot.

5In terms of operating system, Mi Max comes with Android v6.0 Marshmallow, while Phab Plus comes with the outdated Android v5.0 Lollipop.

Battery and Other Features

Xiaomi Mi Max is backed by a massive 4850 mAh Li-ion battery which is Non removable. On the other hand, Lenovo Phab Plus is backed by a 3500 mAh Li-po Battery that is again Non removable. Both the phones have non removable battery, but Mi Max clearly has a better battery as compared to the Lenovo Phab Plus.

6Talking about other features, Mi Max is equipped with Infrared, Fingerprint and Gyroscope sensors that are missing in Phab Plus.

Price and Availability

Xiaomi Mi Max (32 GB) is priced at Rs. 14,999 and it will be available at Mi.com through a flash sale on July 6. On the other hand, Phab Plus is available on Amazon at the same price of Rs. 14,999.

Conclusion

To conclude, Xiaomi Mi Max has a Better Display Quality, Light Body, Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Fingerprint and Gyro Sensor, IR Blaster, Latest OS Marshmallow, Better RAM, More expandable storage, Better Camera and a Bigger Battery. While Lenovo Phab Plus just has a Bigger Display to counter all of the above. So clearly, Xiaomi Mi Max is more loaded phone as compared to Lenovo Phab Plus.
