Chinese company, Huawei, recently launched its trend breaker, Honor 5c, in India. While Honor 5c is already creating a lot of buzz in the Indian markets, the company has now unveiled another much awaited phone, Honor 8, in China. The highlight of Honor 8 are the dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with laser auto focus. Let us take a look at the 6 most exiting things about this newly launched phone.

Camera

The first one on the list has to be the camera. Honor 8 is equipped with a dual camera setup on the rear that features two 12 MP cameras with dual-tone LED flash, 1.76-micron pixel size, laser autofocus and F2.2 aperture. Huawei has previously used the dual camera setup in Honor V8 also. On the front, Honor 8 has an 8 MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture.

Hardware

Honor 8 is powered by an Octa-core processor with four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It has a 16nm Kirin 950 chipset with i5 co-processor and Mali T880-MP4 GPU. All this is coupled with 3 GB / 4 GB RAM and 32 GB / 64 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card. Talking about the operating system, it has the latest Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on the top.

Display

Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), pixel density of 423 PPI and 96% NTSC color reproduction. It has a color depth of 16.7 million colors and allows multi-touch.


Design

Honor 8 comes with a 5.2 inch display and a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. It has a metal frame with glass on the back and a fingerprint sensor as well. Its overall dimensions are 145.5 x 71 x 7.44 mm and it weighs just 153 grams. Honor 8 would be good for one handed usage because of its 7.44 mm slim design, lightweight and average size. It will be available in a wide variety of colors namely Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue.

Battery & other features

Honor 8 is backed by a 3000 mAh battery which support fast charging and it is charged through a USB Type-C port. Talking about other features, it has almost all the sensors you can ask for. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, moreover it has a gravity sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, IR blaster, hall sensor, gyro and compass.

Connectivity

Honor 8 allows you to connect with the world in a superior way. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, hotspot, bluetooth v4.2, USB 2.0, GPS, NFC, USB OTG and 3.5 mm audio jack. It has dual SIM slots with 2G, 3G and 4G LTE support, although, it does not have a dedicated microSD slot.

Pricing

Honor 8 is very reasonably priced at 1999 yuan (Rs. 20000 approx.) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 2299 yuan (Rs. 23,000 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 32GB storage and 2499 yuan (Rs. 25,000 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant.
