Xiaomi Amazfit Smartwatch Launched At CNY 799

Xiaomi Amazfit has been launched in the company’s home country, China, today. The Amazfit is Xiaomi’s first ever smartwatch featuring a 1.34 inch display and a heart rate sensor for monitoring the users heart rate.

The Xiaomi Amazfit has been developed by Xiaomi in collaboration with Huami, a sub-brand of Xiaomi. Earlier Xiaomi had launched fitness bands but this is the company’s first smartwatch.

The Xiaomi Amazfit has been priced at CNY 799 (approx Rs. 8,000) and will be available in China from tomorrow. As of now, there is no information about the smartwatch’s launch in India.

The Xiaomi Amazfit features a 1.34 inch circular display. It comes with a 300 x 300 pixel resolution. The smartwatch is dust and water resistant with IP67 certification. The Xiaomi Amazfit features a scratch resistant ceramic bezel.

Xiaomi claims that the Amazfit is the world’s first smartwatch to come with a 28nm GPS sensor. It comes with a 22nm band that can be replaced by the user.

The Xiaomi Amazfit is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor coupled with 512 MB RAM. It comes with 4 GB of internal storage. On the back of the dial, there is a heart rate sensor to monitor the user’s heart rate continuously.

It is powered by a 200 mAh battery that is supposed to give five days of battery life. If the user turns on GPS, the battery life drops to 35 hours. If you are just using the pedometer, you can get up to 11 days of battery life.

Xiaomi has partnered with Alibaba to allow Amazfit’s users to use Alipay services for mobile payment. Connectivity options on the smartwatch include Bluetooth 4, Wi-Fi, GPS and AliPay.

Pricing and Avaiability

The Xiaomi Amazfit has been priced at CNY 799 (approx Rs. 8,000) and will be available in China from tomorrow. As of now, there is no information about the smartwatch’s launch in India.
