Samsung launched a new J-series smartphone, Galaxy J7 Prime. Samsung has launched Galaxy J7 Prime only in Vietnamese market as of now and the global launch is still awaited. It has been priced at VND 6,290,000 (approx INR 19,000) and will be available from August 23 onward in Vietnam. It has been upgraded in many terms as compared to Galaxy J7 (2016).
It sports an upgraded Full-HD (1080p) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection as compared to Galaxy J7 (2016). Under the hood, it runs an 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM.
It has got 32GB of internal storage which is further expandable via micro-SD card slot. Camera optics include, a 13MP rear cam with an f/1.9 aperture with LED flash and a 8MP front facing camera with an f/1.9 aperture.
This time it has got an all metal body design for a much more premium look and feel. It also features a Fingerprint sensor on the front which doubles up as a home button. It runs on Android Marshmallow (6.0) with Samung’s own Touchwiz UI on top.
It packs a 3,300mAh battery and supports dual-SIM. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, USB-OTG and Micro-USB. It measures 151.5 x 74.9 x 8.1mm.
There is no word about official launch yet so it’s hard to comment on it’s global launch. It will be quite interesting in terms of pricing as it has got a pretty decent mid-range specification.
