Samsung has been pretty lucky with the J series phones in Indian as well as international markets. Last month the company released an upgraded variant of Galaxy J7 in Vietnam. It is called the Galaxy J7 Prime. Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy J7 Prime in Indian market soon at a price around Rs. 19,000. There is no official statement that confirms the Indian launch & price, but several rumors have confirmed the news.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is an upgraded version of the Galaxy J6 2016 version, which includes the much needed fingerprint sensor on the home button. Other than this, it comes with a full-HD display in comparison to the HD display on J7 (2016). It has also got a major upgrade on the storage front, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (Indian variant is rumored to have 16GB), which is 2GB and 16GB on J7(2016). For better selfies, it will boast of an 8MP front camera instead of the 5MP camera on its sibling.


Rest of the specification are similar to the Galaxy J7(2016). It supports dual SIM and runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. On the display front, it has a 5.5 inch full-HD IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood, it runs on a 1.6GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. Vietnamese model has 32GB of inbuilt storage but it is rumored to land with 16GB in India. Luckily it is further expandable up to 256GB.

The rear camera on Galaxy J7 Prime is the same 13MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it boasts an 8MP camera for selfies with anf/1.9 aperture.

Connectivity options include dual SIm 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB (withOTG), and 3.5mm audio jack. Galaxy J7 Prime is powered by a 3300mAh cell and measures 151.5×74.9×8.1mm.
