Lenovo K5 Note Update Brings VoLTE Support

Lenovo K5 Note will now work with VoLTE on networks like Reliance Jio in India. Lenovo pushed out a software update to the K5 Note yesterday that adds support for the much anticipated VoLTE feature. At the moment in India only Reliance Jio supports VoLTE – short for Voice over LTE, a feature that lets you make regular voice calls over the LTE network.

Lenovo K5 Note Specs

The Lenovo K5 Note was launched in August in India. The phone comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display and an octa-core Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 processor. The K5 Note come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Lenovo’s custom UI on top.

Other specs include a 3 GB / 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card.

In the imaging department, the Lenovo K5 Note 5 comes with a 13 MP camera, LED flash on the back and an 8 MP camera on the front.

Other features in the Lenovo K5 Note include a fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC. The phone is powered by a 3500 mAh battery.

The Lenovo K5 Note comes with support for dual SIM and 4G LTE, but the VoLTE support was missing from the phone. Lenovo had promised to roll out an update a few weeks back and it has fulfilled its promise now.

The VoLTE update will be available as an OTA update. You should receive a notification on your K5 Note to download and install it. However, if you haven’t been notified yet, you can go to Settings -> About Phone -> System Update and manually check for updates. The update is 122 MB in size and can be downloaded via Wi-Fi. Make sure your phone is charged more than 75% before you start installing the update.
