Meizu has announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone, the Meizu M5 at an event in China. The device features a 5.2 inch HD display and is powered by an Octa core Mediatek processor. The M5 runs on Yun OS 5.1 with FlyME UI on top. The device will be available in China starting from November 1.

The Meizu M5 runs on Yun OS 5.1 with FlyMe UI 5.5. The device features a 5.2 inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The device comes with a pixel density of ~282 PPI.
The Meizu M5 is powered by an octa core 1.5 GHz Mediatek MT6750 processor clubbed with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The device comes in two variants. The 2 GB RAM variant come with 16 GB of internal storage and the 3 GB RAM variant comes with 32 GB of internal storage. The storage on the Meizu M5 can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the Meizu M5 features a 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 5P lens and dual-LED flash. On the front, the device sports a 5 MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture and 4P lens.
The Meizu M5 is powered by a 3,070 mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microUSB v2.0.
Pricing and Availability
The Meizu M5 comes in Mint Green, Glacier White, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue and Matte Black colors. The Meizu M5 has been priced at 699 Yuan for the 2 GB RAM with 16 GB storage variant and 899 Yuan for the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage variant. The device will go on sale in China from November 1. There is no information about the global rollout of the device yet.
