Huawei Honor 6X Reported To Launch On December 23

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has released media invites for an event to be held on December 23, with a teaser of the new smartphone highlighting the dual-camera. The invite has been released with the tagline ‘#swag phone is coming’, and a dual camera setup in the middle. If speculations are right then, it is Honor 6X which has received a lot of buzz already in the Chinese as well Indian market.

The successor of Honor 5X, it features a metal unibody design, dual-camera setup at the back which include 12-megapixel auto-focus snapper, PDAF support and a 2-megapixel snapper for achieving depth of field and DSLR-like effect. The front camera is an 8-megapixel which will surely attract the selfie lovers.

The Honor 6X also flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Powering it is a Kirin 655 octa-core processor paired with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. The phone might be available in three variants just like in China which includes 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, 4GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB with 64GB storage.

Other features include fingerprint sensor at the back that unlocks the phone in 0.3 second, and 3,340 mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options are dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. The phone will be running on Android Marshmallow 6.0 based EMUI 4.1 OS.


The expected price of the phone will be between Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,600 and after launch, the phone will be facing direct competition from the likes of Lenovo K6 Power and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Apart from these two, there are other players also from Moto, Asus, LeEco, Samsung and Coolpad which will also give significant competition to Honor’s next offering.
