Samsung finally decided to launch its latest wearable smartwatch Gear S3 in India. This smartwatch was revealed last year at IFA 2016. It’s the latest smartwatch from Samsung made out of some really premium materials and packs a lot of new features and sensors.
Samsung Gear S3 comes in two variants, one is Gear S3 Classic and another one is Gear S3 Frontier. Gear S3 Classic comes with a leather strap while Gear S3 Frontier has got a silicone strap.Gear S3 Classic comes in silver color while ear S3 Frontier comes in black color. Both are priced at Rs. 28,500.

Samsung Gear S3 comes with a 1.3-inch body AMOLED touchscreen display with a 46mm body. The display is always-on display with a resolution of 360×360 pixels and Gorilla Glass SR+ protection. It has also got a Rotating bezel which can be used to navigate the menus and notifications.
Under the hood it runs a Exynos 7270 dual-core CPU clocked at 1.0 GHz with 768 MB RAM. It has also got 4GB of onboard storage for storing music and data. It runs on Tizen based wearable platform 2.3.2 and is powered by a 380 mAh battery.
On the connectivity side it has got GPS (Glonass), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2 and LTE(optional). Sensors include Accelerometer, gyro, ambient light sensor, altimeter, barometer, speedometer heart rate, and NFC. It has also got a loudspeaker and a mic for taking calls directly from the watch itself.
The Gear S3 is IP68 certified which makes it dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. It is made out of Stainless Steel 316L and is compatible with standard 22mm straps. Both variants measures 49 x 46 x 12.9 mm. Gear S3 Classic weighs 59 gram whereas Gear S3 Frontier weighs 63 grams.
Price & Availability
The Samsung Gear S3 has been priced at Rs. 28,500. The two smartwatches will be available for purchase starting January 18. Samsung will make them available across all its retail channels in the country, including online stores.
