The Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.50-inch IPS LCD display and a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels, which is similar in the Redmi Note 3 as well. However, the Note 4 also comes with a 2.5D curved glass, giving you a much better viewing experience.

The latest offering from Xiaomi is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and octa core, 2.2GHz processor. The processor is further coupled to either a 3GB or 4GB RAM and internal storage – 32GB or 64GB.

As for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, it comes with a Hexa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 clubbed to Adreno 510 GPU processor. Further coupled to 2GB/16 GB or 3GB/ 32GB memory and storage options.

If you are a gaming enthusiast then surely Redmi Note 3 will give you better performance over the Redmi Note 4. But, Redmi Note 4 chipset is more balanced and will give a decent performance while conserving the battery. So, if you are more oriented towards balance, then Redmi Note 4 and for added push in the performance, Redmi Note 3 should be your pick.

Camera

Redmi Note 4 is equipped with 13MP f/2.0 primary camera on the back which is further accompanied with dual-LED flash, phase detection, and autofocus. Recording can be done up to 1080p at 30FPS from the rear camera. The front is fitted with a 5MP camera.

The photos in the natural and artificial lights are pretty good in the Redmi Note 4 but, you cannot expect exceptional results.

The Redmi Note 3 features a 16MP camera with f/2.0, phase detection, autofocus and LED flash. The recording is similar to Redmi Note i.e 1080p at 30FPS. The front is also equipped with 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. Comparing the images of both the phones, the Redmi Note 4 gave better results over Redmi Note 3 while the front images does not have significant differences.

Connectivity

On Redmi Note 4, you get dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Infrared, GPS and FM Radio. The connectivity options for Redmi Note 3 are similar with a difference of Bluetooth 4.1.

Battery

Both the phones have a powerful battery pack. The Redmi Note 4 is equipped with 4100mAh while the Redmi Note 3 comes with 4,050mAh. So, you get a slightly bigger battery in Redmi Note 4.

That said, the Redmi Note 4 comes with a less powerful and more efficient Snapdragon 625 processor. While the Redmi Note 3’s battery life is stellar, too, the Redmi Note 4’s battery life is even better.

Pricing & Availability

There are more options for Redmi Note 4 which include 3GB/ 32GB priced at Rs 9,999, 3GB/64GB priced at Rs 11,999 and 4GB/ 64GB version at Rs 12,999.

The Redmi Note 3 is available in two options with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage at Rs 9,999. Whereas, the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage come at Rs 11,999.

Conclusion

Though Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is slightly better on some grounds from Redmi Note 3, we cannot say that it outperformed its predecessor. And, this is the reason why there might be confusion among buyers to select the right phone for them.

If you can live with an average camera but need a much more powerful chipset then the Redmi Note 3 might be your choice.

If better camera, more RAM and storage with a balanced performance is what you are looking then Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the option for you.
