MIUI 8.2 Global Update Rolling Out, Check If Your Xiaomi Phone Is Eligible

Xiaomi confirmed the roll out of MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM on Thursday. This was confirmed through the company’s official page and now the OTA update will be available for eligible devices starting today. Users can download their OTA update through the Updater app.

MIUI 8.2 Global Stable ROM Changelog

  • New swipe pattern to remove lock screen notifications
  • Refreshed UI adjustments for toggles
  • A redesigned battery saver toggle can be added to the Notification shade
  • The lock screen PIN layout has been now optimized
  • USB charging and switching keyboards icons have been changed and optimized
  • Incoming call floating notifications issue resolved
  • Freezing of the WiFi page when opened for the first resolved
  • Notifications shade issue resolved
  • Issues with opacity after using third party themes resolved
  • Landscape mode issue with third party themes resolved
  • Restriction of removing first notification from swipe
  • New home screen settings are added in the settings
  • Adjustments for animations in the launcher are resolved

MIUI 8.2

With the new MIUI 8.2 Global State ROM, there is a range of new features that are added and bugs are fixed. The changes include an improved layout for toggles in the Notification shade, full control over automated tasks and a new list of system sounds and ringtones. For the Chinese users, Smart assistant feature is exclusive.

The issues like Notification shade, WiFi page freezing, and landscape mode with third party themes are fixed. In addition to this, the Home Screen setting and a new VirusScan feature is added which will scan apps installed in the phone downloaded apart from the Google Play Store.

As it is a Global Stable ROM, users of the above-listed phones will get the update starting from today.
