[MWC 2017] Lenovo Tab 4 and Tab 4 Plus Launched With Nougat

Lenovo has just unveiled four new tablets at the MWC 2017. Two of them belong to the entry level Tab 4 Series, while other two are part of the mid-range Tab 4 Plus. While Samsung just launched its flagship Galaxy Tab S3 tablet, Lenovo has chosen affordability over extravagance. The Lenovo Tab 4 and Tab 4 Plus comes with decent specifications and starts from just $109 (approx Rs. 7,200).

The Tab 4 comes in two different variants. One with an 8-inch display and another with a 10.1-inch one. Both the screen are IPS LCD panels with HD (1280 x 720) resolution. The tablets feature a plastic body with four Dolby Atmos speakers’ setup.

Moving inside, there lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. The 64-bit quad-core processor sports four Cortex A53 cores clocked at up to 1.4 GHz each. The graphics are handled by the Adreno 308 GPU.

Memory-wise, the Lenovo Tab 4 rocks 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB or 32 GB of onboard storage. Micro SD card slot is there too. The tablets run on Android 7.0 Nougat with slight OEM modifications.

The brand new device sports a 5 MP rear camera and 2 MP selfie snapper. A 4850mAh battery juices up the 8-inch version, while a 7000mAh cell sits inside the 10.1-inch model. Connectivity-wise, the tablets sport single band W-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB 2.0 port.

Pricing and Availability

Speaking of the pricing, the 8-inch variant costs $109 (Rs. 7,200 approx.) and the 10.1-inch model has a retail price of $149 (Rs. 9,900 approx.). The Lenovo Tab 4 is going to available for purchase soon.

The Tab 4 Plus series is much more premium than the regular Tab 4. Not only they come with a gorgeous dual glass construction, but they also boast Full HD (1080 x 1920) displays. Just like the Tab 4, this too is available in 8-inch and 10.1-inch iterations.

The Snapdragon 625 SoC drives the new range of tablets. This is an octa-core chip with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. It is significantly more powerful than the SD 425 of the Tab 4. On the basis of memory, there are two variants of the Tab 4 Plus. The base model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, while the top end model rocks 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. There is also a micro SD card slot. The tablets have Android 7.0 Nougat as the operating system.

The camera department is beefed up too. The rear shooter is an 8 MP autofocus unit, while the front camera is a 5 MP one. The battery configuration is the same – 4850mAh for the 8-inch one and 7000mAh for the 10.1-inch model. Speaking of connectivity, all features of the Tab 4 are there with an upgraded dual-band Wi-Fi and Type-C USB port.

Pricing and Availability

Coming to the pricing, the Tab 4 Plus will retail at $199 (Rs. 13,250 approx.) for the 8-inch version and $249 (Rs. 16,600) for the 10.1-inch variant. Regarding availability, Lenovo has hinted towards May 2017.
