[MWC 2017] Lenovo Launches Yoga 720 & Yoga 520 With Fingerprint Sensor

Lenovo introduced two new laptops to its Yoga series at MWC 2017, Barcelona. The two laptops are Yoga 720 and Yoga 520. Both laptops are very portable, versatile and feature rich in terms of overall design and functionality. Both are powered by seventh generation of Intel i7 CPU and offer a display resolution up-to 4K which is really amazing. Yoga 720 comes in 13 inch & 15 inch display size options whereas Yoga 520 is offered in 14 inch & 15 inch display size options. Lenovo claims Yoga 720 to be “the most powerful convertible in its class”.

Lenovo Yoga 720 Specifications

The Lenovo Yoga 720 offers a 13.3-inch LCD display with a 4K resolution or a full-HD resolution depending upon the variant you choose. There is also a 15-inch display variant. Under the hood it runs on a 7th Generation Intel Core i7 CPU paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 1TB of PCIe SSD for storage. The 15-inch variant comes with NVidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU whereas 14-inch variant comes with Intel HD Integrated Graphics 620 GPU.

Lenovo Yoga 720

It has got a 720p HD fixed focus front camera along with dual digital mics. Additionally it offers JBL speakers with Dolby Audio Premium for enhanced audio experience. Talking about connectivity, it includes 2xUSB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack, 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.1.

It also comes with a backlit keyboard, Fingerprint scanner and Lenovo active pen 2 support. Yoga 720 is 14.3mm thick and weighs 1.3Kg. It is claimed to last for 8hrs on full-HD display and 7hrs on 4K display. It runs on Windows 10 Home OS and is offered in Platinum Silver, Iron Grey, and Copper colour options.


Lenovo Yoga 520 Specifications

The Lenovo Yoga 520 sports a 14 inch or a 15 inch LCD IPS display depending upon the variant you choose. Both displays come in either full-HD or 4K resolution. Under the hood it runs a 7th generation Intel core i7 CPU with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. On the storage front it gets either 512GB of PCIe SSD or 1TB of HDD or 512GB SSD+1TB HDD. It comes with either NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU or Intel dedicated graphics GPU.

Lenovo Yoga 520

It has got a 720p HD fixed focus front camera along with dual digital mics. Additionally it offers Harman speakers with Dolby Home Theatre for enhanced audio experience. Talking about connectivity, it includes USB Type-C, 2xUSB 3.0, HDMI port, 3.5mm audio jack, 4-in-1 card reader, 2 x WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, and RJ45 port.

It comes with a backlit keyboard, Fingerprint scanner and Lenovo active pen 2 support. Yoga 520 is 19.9mm thick and weighs 1.74Kg. It is claimed to last for 10hrs with full-HD display and 9hrs with 4K display. It runs on Windows 10 Home OS and is offered in Mineral Grey and Onyx Black colour options.

Pricing & Availability

The Lenovo Yoga 720 has been priced at EUR 999 (Rs. 70,600 approx) for the 13.3-inch variant and EUR 1,099.99 (Rs. 77,700 approx) for the 15-inch variant. The Lenovo Yoga 520 pricing starts from EUR 599 (Rs. 42,300 approx). Yoga 720 will be available from April whereas Yoga 520 will be available from July.
