Coolpad has stuck to a simple, no-nonsense design for the Note 5 Lite. It comes with a metallic unibody design with chamfered edges, giving it a premium look. The branding is also minimal and subdued, with the company logo on the lower backside. Two metal lines run on the back, near the top and the bottom, adding to the looks of the phone.
On the front, you will find the 5 inch HD IPS LCD display. Above the display, the front camera, front LED flash, ambient light sensor, notification LED and the earpiece are placed.
Below the display, you will find nothing but the three capacitive navigation buttons.
The right side of the phone houses the power button and the SIM card slot.
On the left, you will find the volume rocker.
Coming to the backside, you will find the main camera towards the top. Next to it is the LED flash. Just below the camera sensor, the fingerprint sensor is placed. Above the camera sensor, there is a secondary earpiece for noise cancellation.
As you come towards the bottom, you will find the Coolpad branding and the loudspeaker.
Coming to the top of the phone, the 3.5mm audio jack is housed there. Other than that, it is bare.
The bottom houses the microUSB port.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD display. Featuring HD resolution, the Note 5 Lite comes with a pixel density of ~294 PPI. For an entry level phone, this is a decent screen density. The phone comes with a screen to body ratio of 70.6%. The phone does seem to have slightly bigger bezels, but for an entry level phone, it is quite adequate.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735CP chipset. With four cores clocked at 1.0 GHz, the phone does seem a little underpowered. The graphics are handled by a Mali-720 GPU.
In terms of the memory, the Note 5 Lite comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 64GB, in addition to support for USB OTG.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and support for HD recording. The rear camera is assisted by a single LED flash.
On the front, you get an 8MP camera along with an LED flash.
Price and Availability
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite has been priced at Rs. 8,199. It will be available starting tomorrow in Gold and Grey colour options.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a decently specced smartphone at a good price. The 5 inch HD display, 8MP front camera with LED flash and the fingerprint sensor are its main attractions. However, the device is a little underpowered with a 1.0 GHz quad core Mediatek MT6735CP processor and a small-ish 2500 mAh battery.
