How Samsung C7 Pro Could Have Been A Better Competitor To The OnePlus 3T

How Samsung C7 Pro Could Have Been A Better Competitor To The OnePlus 3T

Quick Answer

  • To conclude, C7 Pro is not a bad phone by any means, however, it falls short by a considerable margin when compared with the likes of OnePlus 3T.
  • Touted as a camera-centric phone, it comes with a 16MP camera with a f/1.
  • Though Snapdragon 626 is power-efficient and gets the job done for regular users, it lacks the horsepower to satisfy the taxing needs of power users.

Samsung launched Galaxy C7 Pro in India at Rs. 27,990. Touted as a camera-centric phone, it comes with a 16MP camera with a f/1.9 aperture on the front and the back. Under the hood, the latest Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 626 powers the device. Let’s take a look at how the device could have been improved to better compete with the OnePlus 3T.

What Could have Samsung done to beat OnePlus 3T?

More Powerful Processor

Though Snapdragon 626 is power-efficient and gets the job done for regular users, it lacks the horsepower to satisfy the taxing needs of power users. On the other hand, OnePlus 3T uses the Qualcomm mobile processor, Snapdragon 821. It can handle any task you throw at it with ease. Also, 6GB RAM on the OnePlus 3T augments the performance. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 would have made C7 Pro a worthy competitor.

IP68 Water and Dust Resistance

The Galaxy A7 2017 and A5 2017 come with an IP68 rating. However, Samsung opted to skip incorporating water and dust resistance capabilities on C7 Pro. Even the OnePlus 3T is not water/dust proof. You got to excel in an area where your competitor is falling behind to outplay your opponent. Unfortunately, Samsung didn’t flex its muscle.

OIS

Though being a focused camera phone, it doesn’t have OIS on its primary camera. OIS comes handy for folks who love shooting videos more often than not. On the contrary, the OnePlus 3T rear camera comes with OIS. Further, the camera on C7 Pro cannot shoot 4K videos; whereas, the primary camera of OnePlus 3T can shoot 4K videos at 30fps.

To conclude, C7 Pro is not a bad phone by any means, however, it falls short by a considerable margin when compared with the likes of OnePlus 3T. If the brand is not at the top of your priority list, OnePlus 3T should be your pick any day.
