Motorola Moto C, C Plus Could Be Moto’s Cheapest Phones Yet

Lenovo-owned Motorola is reportedly working on some ultra-affordable smartphones. Named as the Moto C and the Moto C Plus, the mobiles will run Android 7.0 Nougat on bare minimum specifications. If the rumors turn out to be true, the Moto C lineup will cost even less than the Moto E series. In price sensitive markets like India, Motorola’s upcoming smartphones may turn out to be an instant hit.

Motorola Moto C Specifications

The Moto C will sport a 5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Regarding internal hardware, there may be two variants of the phone. The cheapest 3G-only model will come with a 1.3 GHz quad-core 32-bit processor, while the slightly costlier 4G LTE version will boast a 64-bit quad-core chip clocked at 1.1 GHz. MediaTek is presumed to be the manufacturer of both the SoCs.

Speaking of the memory, the Moto C will rock 1 GB of RAM along with 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage. Micro SD card slot shall be present in every variant. The phone will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

Coming to the optics, there will be a 5 MP fixed focus camera on the 3G variant, while the same will be an autofocus one in the 4G LTE model. A 2 MP selfie shooter will sit at the front. Interestingly, a front LED flash shall be there too.


Connectivity-wise, the Moto C is going to have two models. The 3G-only variant will be the cheapest one. The marginally expensive 4G LTE version will feature VoLTE. Other connectivity details will be the same. A 2350mAh is expected to juice up the upcoming smartphone.

Price and Availability

Talking about the price, we expect the Moto C to start around Rs. 5000 in India. Motorola is yet to disclose the availability details.

Motorola Moto C Plus Specifications,

This is sort of a premium sibling of the Moto C. The Moto C Plus sports a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution. Inside, there is a quad-core 64-bit MediaTek chipset running at 1.1 GHz. Unlike the Moto C, all the models of the C Plus come with the same SoC and support 4G LTE.

Coming to the RAM, you can choose between 1GB or 2GB. Nevertheless, there will be 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot. The Moto C Plus will run Android 7.0 Nougat as the operating system.

Speaking of the camera department, an 8 MP autofocus unit will sit at the back, while the front will have a 2 MP sensor. Just like the Moto C, the C Plus will also come with a dedicated front facing LED flash.

Moving on to the connectivity details, the Moto C Plus will support 4G LTE along with VoLTE. There will be Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and other usual features. A huge 4000mAh battery will power up the future smartphone.

Price and Availability

According to rough estimates, the Moto C Plus may cost around Rs. 7000 in India. There is no info on availability though.
