Google Areo

According to Sundar Pichai, India will be a 1 trillion dollar digital economy in the upcoming 3-4 years and making Google’s business India-centric has a perfect sense for the company. Facebook has already introduced its local services in the country through Facebook.com/services where users can find pet services, event planners and so on and now Google is entering the same territory.

The service app industry has seen a significant rise in past few years and many companies have raised approximately over $180 million. But, most of the companies have faced the problem of retaining their users and due to which the industry has not seen a progress. But, let’s see if big tech giants can change the future of the service industry or not. The Google Areo is likely to face significant competition from popular food delivery apps of the country like Freshmenu and Swiggy.

The added advantage of other services and the reach of Google might help Areo in gaining some initial users at a significant rate. If the app gets popular in the first set of cities then it might get introduced in other cities as well.
