Leaked Images Suggest Xiaomi Mi 6 Won’t Sport A 3.5mm Audio Jack

As the launch of next flagship of Xiaomi is getting close, the leaked images of the smartphone are getting the limelight on the internet. A few days ago, a set of images leaked and now again some images of the Xiaomi Mi 6 are surfacing on the internet. The company has already started testing the Xiaomi Mi 6 in China and confirmed few specifications and these leaks have confirmed some other features of the phone as well.

The new set of images clearly gives you an idea that the phone has a premium look and comes with dual rear camera setup with curved design at the back and the front. Mi 6 is made up of ceramic and four sides curved design. Also, the home button on the smartphone is quite bigger than the other Xiaomi devices and the fingerprint sensor is embedded in the front panel. But, the scanner is not clickable and serve as the home button as well.

According to some speculations, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be an IP68 certified device, which means that the phone will be resistant to water for 30 minutes under it. In addition to this, the images also highlight IR blaster at the top, USB Type-C port at the bottom, volume rockers and power button at the right side of the phone. Also, the 3.5mm audio jack is missing on the phone, which might be disheartening for some of the Xiaomi fans. For charging and audio, a user has to rely on a single port.

This was not expected from Xiaomi and it looks like the company is now getting its smartphones in-line with the industry standards. Even the antenna bands are clear from the images and the Mi 6 is expected to be offered in two variants – a standard Mi 6 and a larger Mi 6 Plus. Both these variants are expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, paired with 4GB/6GB RAM. There are also speculations of 8GB RAM in the ceramic variant of the phone.


Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched on April 19 in China and by May or early June, it will be launched in the Indian market. Looking at the popularity of the company’s devices in the country, it is expected that Xiaomi will introduce all the variants in the Indian market. If not then the flagship might not get the significant response in front of the upcoming OnePlus 5, which will be also launched soon in the market.
