Lenovo To Shut Down ZUK Mobile In The Coming Weeks

Lenovo is soon going to shut down its sub-brand company Zuk. Pan Jiutang, a Chinese analyst confirmed about this news when a Weibo user named “Old Cool” mentioned that ZUK will not reveal Z3 smartphone as the successor to ZUK Z2 and also added that ZUK Mobile is shutting down. Hence its confirmed that we are not going to see Zuk Z3, the successor of Zuk Z2 in future.

Zuk is a sub brand of Lenovo which was introduced 2 years back in 2015. Zuk is known for its premium smartphones with high end specifications. Zuk has launched five smartphones in the market. Lenovo Zuk Z1 being the first smartphone from Zuk, Lenovo Zuk Edge was the last smartphone which was introduced last year.

Lenovo Zuk Edge

Zuk Z1 was the first smartphone from Zuk. It has a pretty good specifications and came with pretty powerful hardware during it’s time. Moreover it ran on Cyanogen OS which offered a more user-friendly and customizable version of Android with that stock feeling on top. Zuk Edge was the last smartphone from Zuk and came with a 5.5-inch full-HD display, powered by the powerful Snapdragon 821 chip-set and running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.

Although there is no official statement from Lenovo yet but the news seems legit as of now. Lenovo will retain the ZUI custom Android skin and it will be used on Moto devices. Alex Chen Yu, Vice president of Lenovo confirmed that the ZUI user interface will be integrated into the upcoming Moto phones.
