Lenovo Z2 Plus Nougat Update Now Rolling Out in India

Lenovo Z2 Plus is finally getting the much awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update in India. The OTA update sports a hefty size of 995 MB. The smartphone which goes by the name ZUK Z2 in China has already received the Nougat update a couple of months ago there.

However, in China, the phone runs customized ZUI interface without Google Play Store access. In India, the phone comes with Google Now Launcher and Play Store pre-installed. Lenovo has been beta testing the Nougat update for some time in the country. Presently selling for as low as Rs. 11,999 ($187 approx.) at some online retailers, the Z2 Plus is the cheapest Snapdragon 820-powered smartphone in India.

Lenovo Z2 Plus Nougat Update Changelog

The Nougat update brings on a handful of new features to the Lenovo Z2 Plus. The most notable of them includes:

  • Manual Mode in the stock camera app.
  • VoLTE video calling
  • Latest Android security patch
  • Multi-window mode
  • Translucent volume changer
  • More extensive quick panel
  • Screen recording
  • Wallpaper support for lock screen
  • Support for launching specific apps through fingerprint scanner
  • New equalizer

In order to install the update, you must have at least 2 GB free space on your Lenovo Z2 Plus. Additionally, the phone must have more than 30 percent battery left. Only non-root users of the handset will receive the Nougat update through OTA. The update also upgrades the current ZUI 2.1 in the Marshmallow build to ZUI 2.5.

Do note that Lenovo is gradually rolling out the update to all the Z2 Plus mobile in India. Please don’t panic if you haven’t got the update yet. You will certainly get it within a few days.
