Apple Launches New iPad Pros With A10X Fusion Chip, 120Hz Display

At its annual WWDC event held in San Jose, California, Apple today unveiled two brand new iPad Pros. The new iPad Pro comes in two sizes – 10.5 inch and 12.9 inch. Apple has fitted these two new iPad Pro tablets with a more powerful A10X Fusion chip and a 50% brighter True Tone and ProMotion display with 120Hz refresh rate.

The Apple iPad Pro 10.5 inch and 12.9 inch run on iOS 10. As the name suggests, the first variant comes with a 10.5 inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 2224×1668. The display comes with a pixel density of ~264 PPI. The display comes with ProMotion technology, fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, True Tone display and anti-reflective coating.

The second variant comes with a 12.9 inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels and a pixel density of ~264 PPI. This variant also comes with the same features as the 10.5 inch iPad.

Both the variants of the iPad Pro come with an A10X Fusion chip with 64‑bit architecture and come with a 12 core GPU. They are embedded with M10 coprocessor.


In terms of imaging, both the iPad Pros come with a 12 MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, 5X Zoom, Quad-LED True Tone flash, Backside illumination sensor, Sapphire crystal lens cover and auto HDR. The devices are capable of 4K recording at 30 FPS and 1080p recording at 60 FPS.

On the front, the iPad Pros come with a 7 MP FaceTime HD Camera with Retina Flash, f/2.2 aperture, auto HDR and Backside illumination sensor.

The iPad Pros come with four speaker audio and dual microphones. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi calling. The device supports Nano-SIM.

The iPad Pro 10.5 inch is powered by a 30.4 watt-hour battery and the 12.9 inch variant comes with a 41 watt-hour battery. The sensors on the devices include Touch ID, Three‐axis gyro, Accelerometer, Barometer and Ambient light sensor. They come with Siri 7.
