Sony has tried to revive a segment which is quite dead for now with its latest Walkman. The company has launched the WS623 Walkman at a price tag of Rs 8990, with support for Bluetooth and NFC. It is Water and Dust Resistant (IP65/68), specifically designed for sports enthusiasts. This makes the Walkman ideal for various rugged conditions and sporting activities.
Sony WS623 Walkman Specifications
Apart from dust and water resistance, the WS623 Walkman is also salt waterproof, which allows a user to swim to a depth of 2 meters with up to 30 minutes of submerged time. The device is also ideal for any sand based activity due to its dust resistance capability. It comes with standard earbuds which are specially designed for sports activities. These earbuds get a covering of thin film that prevents damage.
These earbuds can endure temperature ranging from –5°C to 45°C, which makes them ideal for hiking or climbing. Compared to the WS410 series, the earbuds weighs 32 grams, are 10% smaller than WS410 Series and 35% smaller than WS610 series. The microphones come with Ambient Sound Mode that uses in-built microphones to cancel external voices and other sounds in the surroundings.
The Sony WS623 Walkman can store up to 4GB of audio and offers 60 minutes of playback in just 3 minutes of charging. The claimed battery life is 12 hours.

Sony has priced this Walkman at Rs 8,990 and will be available at the Sony Center stores across India from June 15, 2017.
