Samsung Galaxy Note 8 To Be Launched On August 23

Samsung has recently sent out invites to the launch of Galaxy Note 8. The invite indicates at a device with the S-Pen and minimal bezels. The invitation says ‘Do Bigger Things’. Despite no mention on the invite, we know the device will be the Galaxy Note 8.

The launch is scheduled for Samsung’s ‘Unpacked’ Event on August 23, 2017. The Galaxy Note 8 is the successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7.

Galaxy Note 8 Specifications

The phone is speculated to feature a 6.4-inch display, dual camera setup, Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 processor and 6GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may come with a 6.4 inch AMOLED panel with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and QHD (1440 x 2960) resolution. It may feature Gorilla Glass 5 and an Always On display. The fingerprint sensor may not be integrated into the display.

Rumours show a Dual camera setup at the back. The cameras are expected to be 2 units of 13MP each with OIS and Dual tone Dual LED flash. The selfie shooter may be an 8MP unit with f/1.6 aperture.

We may see a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos 8895 SoC on the Galaxy Note 8. The processor may vary based on region. The device is rumoured to have 6GB RAM and 64GB and 128GB ROM options. Samsung may retain the microSD card to give up to 256GB expandable storage.

On the performance front, we may see Grace UI on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. Apart from that, we could get Bixby this time as Samsung has enabled it for US based users. The Galaxy Note 8 will also have a stylus, the S-Pen.

The Note 8 will come with a non-removable battery, USB Type-C 3.1 port, Iris Scanner, NFC, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm earphone jack. The phone is expected to be launched at 1,000 Euros or roughly Rs. 74,940.
