Zomato, Ola Partner To Offer Cab And Food Booking In Their Apps

Zomato and Ola on Thursday have announced a strategic partnership to offer integrated services to their users. This will allow Zomato users to book Ola rides within the app and also make payments using Ola Money.

Zomato, the food delivering app will integrate Ola APIs to make it easier for its users to access restaurant and eating-out options on their app. Also, users will be able to book an Ola ride to the restaurant directly from the Zomato app.

Moreover, Ola Money will be integrated within the Zomato app and website for making payment. Zomato’s partner restaurants will also set up special zones, where customers can book an Ola.

Further, Ola customers using Ola Play, its connected car platform will now be able to view restaurant and eating out options, read reviews, and order food as well along with table reservations through a customized Zomato micro-app on Ola Play.

Mukund Kulashekaran, Business Head Online Ordering at Zomato said,

“We are delighted to partner with Ola in enabling a seamless mobility experience for our customers as well as help them access Zomato during their rides on Ola Play. Mobility is an essential part of the overall dining experience and Ola brings together the widest network and choice of vehicles across 110 cities in India.”

Ola, the online cab service provider might have partnered with Food delivery app to counter with its arch rival Uber. To recall, Uber had recently launched UberEats its own online food delivery app in India.

Saurabh Mishra, Director Alliances at Ola, said,

“This partnership with Zomato brings increased convenience, seamless mobility, and dining or ordering experience to the customers of both the platforms. From bringing in the ease of scrolling through the Zomato app while enjoying an Ola Play ride to the convenience of booking an Ola ride and paying through Ola Money at various Zomato properties, this partnership is a win-win for users on both sides.”

It is also to be mentioned that Ola is about to receive a significant amount of funding in coming months. As per recent reports, Chinese internet company Tencent is planning to invest $400 million (Rs. 2,500 crores approx.) in home grown Ola Cabs.

So, now this team up with Zomato that has about 90 million monthly visits, is definitely going to benefit the online cab aggregator. Apart from the content, making payment and sharing Point of Sale network, both partners are also to offer a range of value-added services in future to their customers.
