Indian smartphone maker Micromax has launched a new phone focused on the selfie capabilities. The Micromax Selfie 2 features a 8MP front and 16MP rear cameras, fingerprint sensor, Android 7.0 Nougat, and 3G RAM. It also comes with 100 days replacement guarantee.
The Micromax Selfie 2 is now listed on the official website of Micromax. Some specs about the connectivity and display are not yet available, but the device looks promising.
Micromax Selfie 2 Specifications
Being marketed around its selfie capabilities, let’s talk about the front camera first. The Micromax Selfie 2 features an 8MP Front-facing camera with Sony IMX135 lens and a front facing LED flash. It packs a 5 piece lens with f/2.0 aperture with Real Time Bokeh Effect and Wide Angle shot capabilities.
Coming to the rear camera, the Micromax Selfie 2 packs a 13MP unit with OV 8856 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera is also a 5 piece lens with an 84-degree view. The rear camera features Auto-Scene Detection, Panorama Mode, and Super Pixel 5200M.
After the cameras, we come to the display. The display size, resolution, or any other specifications are not listed on the website. Anyhow, the company is marketing the display to come with Good Color depth and Visual clarity.
In terms of hardware, the phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 Quad-Core Processor, clocked at 1.3GHz. This processor is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. There’s no clarity on the expansion options yet. With these specs, the device should prove good for moderate daily usage.
The Micromax Selfie 2 is running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. The phone will support multi-window, Bundled Notifications, and other Nougat features, along with enhanced Doze Mode. The device also has a customized Quick Settings Button.
On the power front, the phone houses a 3,000 mAh battery. The Micromax Selfie 2 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. No specifications about the USB, NFC or infrared connectivity are given. We anticipate the Micromax Selfie 2 to come with a 3.5mm earphone jack and micro USB port.
The pricing and availability of the phone are not yet disclosed. We expect this to be a mid-range device for camera-centric users.
