Google Rolls Out Daydream VR support For Samsung Galaxy S8 And S8+

Google has rolled out an update for the S8 and S8+ smartphones to support its Daydream View VR headset. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users can download the Daydream app from Google Play to enjoy the VR (Virtual Reality) experience.

Initially, Google designed the Daydream View headset especially for its Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. However, later it was found, the headset was also compatible with Moto Z, Z Force with Android Nougat Update.

After that, it gets support in some latest smartphones including recently launched Moto Z2 Force. Also, the Asus Zenfone AR that was launched last month comes with Daydream support. Other phones that have Daydream View support include Huawei Mate 9 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 9 and ZTE Axon 7. Google has also announced Daydream support for upcoming LG V30.

Now, it will be supporting Samsung flagships Galaxy S8 and S8+ with a software update. Google has announced about it already at the I/O 2017 back in May. Earlier, the smartphone gives an error message when a user tries to install Google Daydream app on it. However, the update will take some time to finish rolling out for all users.

Google Daydream View VR headset was launched in India exclusively on Flipkart back in June for Rs. 6,499. The headset is very easy-to-wear and comes with a controller that’s simple to use. You simply place your Daydream compatible phone into the headset to get started.

Download the Daydream app from Google Play Store. You can buy the Daydream View Headset from Flipkart. The e-com portal also offers 5% instant discount if you purchase Axis Buzz credit cards.
